Language Study Tour - Healthcare-Oriented |
This 12 or 19-day course is designed to
introduce registered nurses to the Spanish language (or accelerate current
proficiency) with an emphasis on medical vocabulary and healthcare
situations common to nursing in Latin America. Its main components are
self-paced, intensive language study and an orientation on Third World
Healthcare. Included are:

the Guatemalan public healthcare system |

Walking tours of Antigua and Panajachel |

Spanish language study for three hours daily
(19-day option provides a second week of language study) |

Spanish medical vocabulary and terminology
study for one hour per day |

Observation of activities at various levels
of the Guatemalan healthcare system |

Exposure to alternative medicine as
practiced by Mayans in the Lake Atitlan Highlands Region |
Contact Hours: We are approved by
the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #13276, to award up to 44.5 Contact Hours
for completion of this tour.

of $1,025.00 (12-day) or $1,315.00 (19-day) includes:

* Accommodation Options: Included
are standard options of (A) lodging with a Guatemala family, private room,
shared bath, all meals (Monday - Saturday) or (B) room in an
American-style Bed & Breakfast with private bath, double occupancy,
breakfast included (for single occupancy in Option B, add $235 for 12-day
program or $310 for 19-day program).
** Tour Option: A visit to the
ancient Mayan capitol of Tikal in conjunction with this tour can be added
by arriving in Guatemala City one day early, for an extra cost of $390
(single occupancy), $360 (double occupancy) payable in full along with
deposit.

No refund will be made without written cancellation notice. A fee of
$50 will be charged for cancellations received 45 days or more prior to departure.
Written cancellations received within 30-44 days prior to departure will result in a
forfeiture of 25% of the total tour price. NO REFUND for
cancellations within 30 days prior to departure.
